Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP ®)

At WFP, we put clients’ interests ahead of our own in all circumstances. Mark holds the distinguished designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM since 2000. Tim holds the CFP® as of 2019. To obtain a CFP®, one must meet demanding education, experience and ethical requirements.
Anyone can call themselves a “financial planner”. Many people think that all financial planners are “certified”, but this isn’t true. Only CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERSTM have complete extensive training, and we are required to value and adhere to the Standards of Professional Conduct as established by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. The Code of Ethics includes: Integrity, Objective Advice, Competence, Fair Treatment, Privacy, Professionalism, and Diligence.
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®)
The Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation is a professional accreditation given by the American-based CFA Institute to financial and investment professionals. The CFA Institute is made up of over 150,000 members worldwide and is based out of Charlottesville, Virginia. The CFA designation is the highest distinction in the investment management profession. The charter gives a strong understanding of advanced investment analysis and real-world portfolio management skills. To become a CFA charterholder, one must pass 3 levels of exams which each require at a minimum 300 hours of self-study, hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, and have 4 years of professional work experience.
Dan has passed his CFA® exam as of 2019.

Academy of Preferred Financial Advisors (APFA)

Mark has been a member of the APFA since 2011. Mark and WFP team members attend APFA conferences three times a year, to receive practice management education, as well as new and relevant information that can impact client’ taxes or investment goals. Learn more about APFA
The Academy of Preferred Financial Advisors (APFA) membership is solely an indication that our financial advisors attend training provided by the APFA. Working with an advisor who is a member of APFA cannot guarantee investment success or that financial goals will be achieved. There can be no assurance that working with a member of APFA will produce or achieve better results than working with an advisor not affiliated with APFA. Advisors who participate in the APFA pay a fee to belong to the program. APFA is not affiliated with Westfield Financial Planning and is not sponsored or endorsed by TDAmeritrade.
